SA: Dajka released from custody

ADELAIDE, Aug 23 AAP - Former world champion cyclist Jobie Dajka has been released
on bail on strict curfew conditions and ordered not to contact his father.

The 24-year-old, who has been in police custody since early Friday, also had other
bail conditions set when appearing in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.

Dajka was arrested last Thursday night for assault and property damage after a disturbance
at his parents' home at Paralowie, in Adelaide's north.

He was released on bail but rearrested early on Friday morning after allegedly contacting
his parents by telephone, a breach of his original bail conditions.

Appearing in court today on a breach of bail charge, Dajka was granted fresh bail,
after accepting conditions which included a 9pm-7am (CST) curfew.

Another condition set by Magistrate Kevin Edgecomb was that Dajka not approach or communicate
with his father Stanley.

Contact with his mother Christine is allowed, but Dajka must not attend his parents' house.

Dajka is due to reappear in court on October 17.
