BOSTON -- It wasn't the gambling scandal that doomed Boston College coach Dan Henning. It was something much more mundane.
The Eagles compiled a 16-19-1 record during three years under Henning, reason enough to force his resignation on Monday.
``It has nothing to do with the gambling situation. Absolutely nothing. It has to do with football,'' athletic director Chet Gladchuk said. ``Look at the statistics. Take a look at the record. Take a look at the program.''
In fact, Gladchuk commended Henning's handling of the scandal that led to the suspension of 13 BC players for betting with bookies. The Eagles …
